City of Crosby Water System Improvements

On Monday, July 12th, the Crosby City Council authorized the Rice Lake Construction Group (Project Contractor) to proceed with construction of the Crosby Water System Improvements, which will include the following construction activities:Water Tower

 

  • Construction of a new 500 gallon per minute Water
  • Treatment Plant located adjacent to the Hallett
  • Community Center property.
  • Construction of a Well Meter Building, installation of 2
  • new 500 gallon per minute glacial drift wells,
  • rehabilitation of an existing well, and the capping and
  • sealing of existing wells at the old water treatment
  • plant site.
  • Construction of a new 300,000 gallon elevation water
  • storage tank near the new City Garage.
  • Installation of about 5,000 feet of new distribution
  • system improvements that will be routed around the east side of the Cuyuna Regional
  • Medical Center campus from the old water treatment plant to the new water treatment
  • plant site.

 

The tentative plan by the Project Contractor is to begin to mobilize equipment and materials on Monday, July 26th.  The first anticipated construction activity planned would be clearing and grubbing of trees along the proposed construction path.  This work is tentatively scheduled to begin the week of August 2nd.

 

Once construction commences, weekly construction updates will be prepared and submitted for posting on this website to provide information about project progress and schedules for pending project activity.   The project is planned to be substantially completed by August 15, 2011.
