There are both state and federal formats of this review and each address different topics. The state form, which is also used by Cities and Counties, goes into the depth of technical investigation required to thoroughly cover the topics identified in the EAW. The federal form has its own list of prescribed subjects to be investigated or determined by and EAW scooping document. EISs are required much less often than an EA or EAW. This review can take 12 to 24 months to complete.
