Bolton & Menk, Inc.’s survey staff has 60 years of experience preparing topographic surveys for both private and public clients. We have developed field and office standards to ensure all of our topographic surveys are produced accurately and in compliance with today’s industry standards. Bolton & Menk has its own internal published standards which include standard field codes, symbols, drafting techniques, line-types and layers. If the client has their own drafting standards Bolton & Menk has the expertise to easily adapt.
Bolton & Menk staff will work closely with the client to determine the specific needs of the survey.
Typically a topographic survey will include the following information:
- Ground contours and spot elevations
- Buildings
- Including Finished Floor Elevations
- Accurate Dimensions
- Locations and types of surface improvements
- Landscaping and trees
- Subject and adjacent visible private and public utilities
- Adjacent streets’ features
- Boundary lines
- Significant topographic features visible to survey crew
Bolton & Menk’s survey work group recognizes the importance of locating existing utilities in conjunction with topographic surveys. Bolton & Menk has developed an internal coordination process to ensure accurate utility information is provided on our surveys.
