Description: Description: As an intern you will learn practical on-the-job experience. Description: Similar to our student intern positionS, this position is for graduates only. This is a seasonal six month position from approximately June - November. Will work under the direction of an Engineer Project Manager performing construction observation, documentation, project specification compliance and quantity tracking on various municipal infrastructure projects. Job Title: CONSTRUCTION OBSERVER - AMES Application deadline: 2012-03-31
Description: Bolton & Menk is currently accepting applications for a seasonal construction observer to work with our Ames office client service areas. This position consists of construction observation, testing and detailed documentation of municipal projects in and around the Ames region. Will work with plans and perform inspection on municipal infrastucture projects dealing with maintenance and construction of streets, sewers, storm sewers, and water mains; determine if material and work meets specifications; includes related surveying duties. Two year Civil Technology Degree or Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited College or University is required plus 24 months of progressive experience with increasingly reponsible charge of various municipal infrastructure projects. We will consider contractor experience and site superindent experience in the mix, if related. Trunk highway, Federal aid and State Aid project documentation is desired. Must be able to work in extended outdoor conditions and negotiate rugged terrain. Must have own vehicle and proof of insurance, mileage reimbursement will be provided. This position is seasonal with no benefits. 40 hours per week plus overtime during peak construction season.

This GIS Specialist, will work as part of a team of GIS specialists on a wide range of GIS projects, including web and mobile project development. Description: Our growing firm has an immediate opening for an experienced Traffic Engineer in our Burnsville, MN office. This Traffic Engineer, working with a team of Engineers, Planners, and Technicians is responsible to provide support to transportation and municipal project managers in transportation related studies and designs, including traffic management plans, signing and striping plans, traffic signal and lighting design, and traffic impact studies. Duties may include but are not limited to preliminary and final design of traffic signal and roadway lighting plans, ICE study reports, coordination of construction administration, traffic signing, pavement marking plans and traffic management plans.
