| Description: We are now accepting applications for the 2011 summer season for 3 month and 6 month positions. Position Description: As an intern you will learn practical on-the-job experience. Interns gain experience with surveying, construction staking, observation and documentation, project specification compliance, quantity tracking, and drafting. The ability to work in extended outdoor conditions is required. Individuals must possess a valid driver's license, proof of insurance, and a personal vehicle. Business expenses, including mileage, are reimbursed monthly. Qualifications: Must be currently enrolled in a civil engineering, land surveying, civil technology or surveying technology program at an accredited college or university. Completion of first year is desired. GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred. Duration: 3 – 6 month positions available Compensation: $10 to $15/hour (plus time and a half for overtime) - depending on education background/experience. Students offered positions in the surveying department are subject to a motor vehicle record (MVR) check and must be insurable under the firm's standard rates. Due to the large response we receive each year, we will begin the process of reviewing resumes and selecting candidates for interviews in early to mid March. | Description: The Graphic Design Intern will be part of our company's marketing team and will participate in the design process from concept to completion. This is a great opportunity for a creative and motivated student to build a portfolio and gain hands-on work experience. Throughout the internship, you will work closely with our Graphic Design Specialist and be involved in a variety of challenging high profile projects with fast turn-around. Duties: The intern will assist all departments within Bolton & Menk with any creative or design needs, from initial concepts to final production. Print ad development, brochure design, large format graphic design and output, specialty item graphics, web site updates and all other marketing duties as assigned. Requirements for the position: The student must have already completed the core technical courses for their respective program. The student must possess advanced computer design software skills with Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Dreamweaver on the Mac platform; familiarity with HTML and CSS; working knowledge of Microsoft products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) good organizational skills and be a team player. Ability to lift 40 pounds is required. Must possess a valid driver's license and proof of insurance. Experience and/or coursework in photography, web design or video production would be a plus. Hours: Negotiable, 10-30 hours per week during regular business hours (8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday). The position is for the 2010-2011 academic school year with the potential to be extended for the summer. Starting Wage: $9.00-10.00 per hour, depending on qualifications.
