City of Atwater, MN – 2011 Improvements Project
Project Summary
The City of Atwater is undertaking a construction project to improve the city streets and utilities along Atlantic Avenue, 3rd Street North, 4th Street North, and Minnesota Avenue. In addition, a portion of the firehall/community center parking lot and the alley north of Atlantic Avenue between 3rd Street and 4th Street will be reconstructed. The project includes the reconstruction of sanitary sewer, watermain, storm sewer, bituminous surfacing, concrete sidewalk, and concrete curb and gutter.
Construction is anticipated to begin in early July and continue through October of 2011. The Contractor will complete the construction in several phases. The project area will remain open to residents and business patrons whenever possible. Traffic will be detoured around the construction site and/or directed to business destinations via construction signing.
Streets Involved:
- 4th Street from Atlantic Avenue to U.S. Highway 12
- 3rd Street from Pacific Avenue to U.S. Highway 12
- Atlantic Avenue from 4th Street to Main Street (CSAH 2)
- Minnesota Avenue from 4th Street to 3rd Street
SAP 34-657-04 (State Aid Funds through Kandiyohi County)
Project Schedule:
Start Construction: July 11, 2011
Substantial Completion: October 28, 2011
This includes completing all work on the project with the exception of final paving.
Final Completion: June 14, 2012
