Mitchell and Nemeth Discuss Connecting Land Use & Transportation Forecasting at MnAPA Conference
September 14, 2010
Many communities consider a transportation system when making land use decisions, but most don’t evaluate whether it will provide their community the potential to fully realize that land use vision. On Thursday, September 23, Gina Mitchell, A.I.C.P. and Bryan Nemeth, P.E., P.T.O.E. will be presenting at the 2010 Upper Midwest Planning Conference held by the Minnesota Chapter of the American Planning Association. Their presentation will cover how land use decisions relate to predicting roadway traffic volumes and how these decisions impact traffic operations. They will also discuss the tools that are available to evaluate the implications of development on a transportation system and examples of the importance of integrating land use and transportation forecasts in the decision making process.
