HOLLAND RECEIVES MINNESOTA'S
MILLER FOUNDERS' AWARD

David Holland, Environmental Project Engineer for Bolton & Menk, Inc., has been awarded the 2010/2011 Kenneth J. Miller Founders' Award from Water For People. The award honors outstanding volunteer service to Water For People's international humanitarian effort. Candidates are recognized for their distinguished leadership accomplishments in support of Water For People. The award was presented on Thursday, September 29th at the 2011 Minnesota American Water Works Association (AWWA) Conference in Duluth, Minn. The Founders Awards were presented to one individual from twenty AWWA sections across the globe.

Through professional presentations and fund raising activities associated with the Water for People organization, Dave has raised awareness and helped to raise money for resources to assist the underprivileged. He has five years of experience as a District Capacity Building Advisor for Australian Volunteers International (AVI) and a volunteer with the U.S. Peace Corps. During his time in Haiti and East Timor, he assisted many communities with projects in the areas of piped water supplies, rainwater catchment and well development, compost and pit latrines. He also instructed four small businesses to build public water and sanitation facilities.
