Public Meetings

Various opportunities for input into the development of this important plan chapter are underway.  Future open house meetings will be advertised on the City’s website and in the newspaper.

Open House Meeting Scheduled for July 31, 2008.

An Open House Meeting will be held on July 31, 2008, at the Northfield High School Cafeteria from 4-7 PM.  The purpose of this meeting will be to review recommendations for the City’s 2030 Transportation Plan.  This meeting will be a joint Open House and include the Northwest Corridor Study.  No formal presentation will be given.

November 15, 2007 Open House & Stakeholder Meetings
On November 15th, the first of three public open houses and three separate workshops were held to listen to and understand the needs of the public and specific organizations with interest in the Northfield area transportation system.  The open house and workshops focused on:

• Presenting the City’s process for updating the Transportation Plan,
• Sharing preliminary information regarding existing average daily traffic volumes and congestion levels, 10–year crash history, and proposed roadway extensions,
• Presenting and discussing known issues,
• Receiving and understanding the most important transportation issues or problems that the City of Northfield should consider.
