At Bolton & Menk, we are passionate about taking care of the environment, because we drive the same roads, drink the same water, and live in the same communities as you.
Improving water quality, caring for our natural resources, and making sure areas are protected from floods takes cooperation from everyone. We carefully explore project needs, find innovative ways to reduce pollution, and create effective partnerships. Together we can protect your environmental resources now and for years to come.
As cities expand with more roads and buildings, managing stormwater becomes a bit more complicated. Our team of engineers, planners, landscape architects, wetland specialists, and other professionals plan for changing conditions. With custom solutions, we help make communities stronger and better able to resist harmful environmental, economic, and social impacts.
Climate Adaptation and Resiliency
Bolton & Menk has a successful history working with clients to mitigate runoff and flooding concerns. We integrate geographic information systems (GIS) with rainfall and flood event modeling to design precise ways to prevent flooding. By combining theoretical modeling with practical experience, we create designs that are resilient for climate changes. Our certified flood plain managers are familiar with the National Flood Insurance Program and can assist with correcting flawed floodplain maps, securing Letters of Map Change, and obtaining elevation certificates.
Innovative Water Quality Solutions
By applying technology and standardization practices, such as using recycled products to reduce waste and cost or using aesthetic features with water quality measures, we create efficiencies in project delivery. You can expect quicker design turn-around, improved opportunities for quality assurance and quality control, and competitive pricing. At Bolton & Menk, innovation is at the heart of anything we do. We think outside of the box for a solution that helps us achieve your goals.
Effective, Holistic Partnerships
We consider projects from our clients’ perspective and treat them as partners—putting their best interest ahead of our own. Protection of our water resources requires dedication from state, county, and local entities, as well as collaboration between public and private stakeholders. We will help honey our communication goals, identify your target audience, and develop effective tools to create a customized approach. Through careful project exploration and effective stakeholder partnerships, we can protect our environmental resources for the next generation.
Bolton & Menk developed LSiD™ (Low Salt Solutions), a package of chloride reduction strategies and principles, which includes a source reduction strategy through low salt design. This popular initiative has empowered and propelled our internal work. However, we wanted to take Low Salt Solutions a step further by working along side communities to see how these chloride reduction strategies would integrate with their vision for the future.
