Loose Awarded 2001 MSPE Public Service Award MANKATO, MN - The Minnesota Society of Professional Engineers (MSPE) have awarded the 2001 Public Service Award to Timothy O. Loose, Principal, Bolton & Menk, Inc. Mr. Loose was presented the award at a ceremony held at the University of St. Thomas - St. Paul Campus. This award not only recognizes professional accomplishments but the efforts of an individual who offers his or her services voluntarily to the public. Mr. Loose is a Principal Engineer and Office Manager of Bolton & Menk’s Mankato Civil Office where he is responsible for approximately 60 employees. He is a Project Team Leader and City Engineer with engineering responsibilities in several area communities. Mr. Loose has been a leader in his local MSPE chapter, chaired its MATHCOUNTS program for youth, and served on several fund raising committees. Aside from his volunteer efforts with MSPE, he is past Chairperson and current member of the Board of Trustees for the First United Methodist Church in New Ulm. He is also a board member for the New Ulm Girls Fast Pitch Softball Association and has been a coach for the past ten years for ages ranging from 10 to 18. In addition to softball, he is also coaching youth baseball this summer in New Ulm. As the City Engineer for the City of Saint Peter, Tim became a member of the recovery team after the 1998 Tornado. He arrived in town just hours following the tornado and was able to assist the City by coordinating building and public safety, documenting damage, and providing needed cost estimates for repairing the damage to public facilities. In addition to the efforts mentioned above, Mr. Loose participates in various civic organizations and their fund raising efforts. He has served as a judge at regional science fairs held at Minnesota State University, Mankato; he volunteers to give presentations to young people promoting engineering at career days; and has volunteered engineering expertise for various park projects including the Tremendous Play Structure recently completed in St. Peter. The award recognizes Mr. Loose’s professional accomplishments and highlights the generous contributions he has made to the region in which he lives and works. |
