City of Plainview - 2020 Street & Utility Improvement Project

Project Overview

The City of Plainview is planning the construction of the 2020 Street and Utility Improvement Project, which will consist of the full reconstruction of street and utility (sanitary sewer, watermain, & storm sewer) infrastructure in the following areas:

  • Hillcrest Second Addition
  • 2nd Street Southwest

In addition, various streets throughout the City of Plainview will have a mill and overlay completed on them as a part of this project.  Construction is planned for the summer of 2020.  The estimated cost of the proposed improvements is $3.2 million. 

Project Schedule

  • Neighborhood Informational Meeting – November 6, 2019
  • Council Meeting to Finalize Project Scope and Authorize Design – November 12, 2019
  • Neighborhood Informational Meeting – February 18, 2020 (Tentative)
  • Bid Opening – April 9, 2020 (Tentative)
  • Award Contract – April 14, 2020 (Tentative)
  • Neighborhood Informational Meeting – April 28, 2020 (Tentative)
  • Begin Construction – May 2020
  • End Construction – June 2021 (All work except final asphalt layer in reconstruction areas complete by October 2020)
