Amatuccio Awarded MnSPE Outstanding EIT

Nick Amatuccio, Design Engineer has been awarded the 2016 MnSPE Outstanding Engineer-in-Training Award from the Minnesota Society of Professional Engineers (MnSPE). This award, presented for the first time in 2016, recognizes a Minnesota EIT for exemplary work as an engineer, notable career achievements, contributions and commitment to the community, activities within MnSPE and other organizations and a recommendation. Nick will be presented the award on April 26th at MnSPE’s annual meeting at the Winehaven Winery in Chisago City.

Nick’s experience includes construction observation and oversight of several significant street and utility improvement projects in the City of Hopkins. This experience was utilized in the Hopkins Mainstreet project in 2015. The awards selection judges were especially impressed that Nick’s efforts throughout the project were recognized by the community and the Mayor at the ribbon cutting ceremony.

Nick holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Minnesota. Nick is an active member of the Minnesota Society of Professional Engineers. He currently serves on the organization’s K-College Outreach Committee, which encourages youth and schools to become engaged in engineering learning activities. He also volunteers as a special awards judge at the Minnesota Future Cities Competition and high school career fairs.
