Renee Barnes

Cultural Resources Project Manager

Renee is a cultural resources project manager who leads cultural resources studies and environmental review studies, assists in other infrastructure development projects, and performs work as an architectural historian. Beginning her professional career in 2006, her expertise lies in Section 106 review and compliance, as well as MnDOT transportation projects. Prior to joining Bolton & Menk, Renee worked as a CRU supervisor and historian at MnDOT. In that role, she supervised and directed the day-to-day work activities of staff members while also reviewing large transportation corridors, including BRT corridors, for compliance with Section 106. She is passionate about her work because she has always appreciated how the built environment shapes both communities and the people in them.
