Bolton & Menk was the planner and engineer of record involved in developing the master land plan and civil design development of this award-winning project. The 2,374-acre project was annexed into the city and zoned PUD by Bolton & Menk. The development is located on the west side of the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway (AIWW); a first of its size and magnitude in the Myrtle Beach area. Project construction began in 2000 and with anticipated completion in 15 years. The master plan includes four championship golf courses with two clubhouses, a 120-acre Town Center that includes commercial, retail, and office uses, a 180-slip full-service marina, hotel and conference facilities, and more than 6,000 single-family lots and multi-family dwellings. This was the first project to build four golf courses by four different architects simultaneously. Bolton & Menk coordinated the efforts of the golf design teams and provided all the regulatory permitting which included 24 acres of wetland fill.
