City of Browerville, Minnesota
The City of Browerville had old watermains with lead service lines along TH 71 and clay pipe sanitary sewer mains across TH 71 at various locations throughout town. The storm sewer was undersized, the street was in need of repair, street lights were in need of replacement, and the sidewalks were not ADA compliant.
The City entered into a cooperative agreement with MnDOT to perform a street and utility reconstruction project along the corridor. Design and construction services were completed for the City’s utility and streetscape improvements along with overall project coordination with MnDOT, local businesses, and residents. The project included approximately 4,700 feet of street and storm sewer reconstruction and 2,500 feet of watermain replacement along TH 71. The project also included replacement of the street lighting system within the downtown district with new LED lights. All sidewalks were replaced to bring them into compliance with current ADA standards.
Coordination with MnDOT was key to a successful project for the City. The City now has a reconstructed street and updated utilities they can rely on for years to come.
