The mixed-use development blends residential, retail, and public amenities while promoting connectivity through innovative planning and design.
Situated at one of the main gateways into Wake Forest, North Carolina, this highly anticipated mixed-use development spans a 78-acre parcel anchored by a 100,000-square-foot Wegmans grocery store. The project incorporates a diverse array of uses, including multifamily residential, townhomes, retail spaces, and a network of public amenities, greenways, and open spaces. Bolton & Menk served as the design lead, providing planning, civil engineering, and landscape architecture services, along with drafting the text amendment for the town to incorporate a planned unit development (PUD) into its unified development ordinance (UDO). The adoption of the PUD allows for greater design flexibility and promotes strong pedestrian and vehicular connectivity, benefiting not only this project but also future mixed-use developments within the rapidly growing Wake Forest community.
