Sectors
The existing 6-inch steel gas line that served Myrtle Beach was initially installed in the 1960s. Bolton & Menk was retained by SCE&G, now Dominion Energy, to study and recommend route options for the installation of a new 12-inch steel gas main to replace the 6-inch steel gas line. The route we recommended depicts Hemingway Chapel Road to the Waccamaw River along the Santee Cooper power line to Pitch Landing Road in Conway for a distance of 3.8± miles. We provided surveying and civil engineering design services to permit and construct the project. We were on-site during the pipe installation to capture the pipeline data for the installation of the new gas main which crossed Liz Lane, Pitch Landing Road, and Copperhead Road by jack and bore below the roadway surface from right-of-way to right-of-way.
