Carver County received federal funding to complete traffic signal safety improvements at seven intersections along the CSAH 14 corridor. Bolton & Menk collaborated with several public agencies to deliver this project with many unique challenges on a compressed schedule. Improvements at each intersection to increase safety and operations for both vehicles and pedestrians included adding pedestrian countdown timers, installing confirmation lights for red-light running enforcement, replacing protected/permissive left turn operations with flashing yellow operations, and addressing pedestrian and ADA issues at the intersections.

Additional project elements included utility and right-of-way coordination, survey, signal justification letters, and construction administration and observation abiding by the federal process. As a result of the project, coordinated signal timings were implemented throughout the corridor.
