Through a series of public input sessions and workshops, we led an open forum for CATS and the public to discuss the constraints and opportunities within the corridor, including station location evaluation criteria and recommendations for preliminary station locations.
Bolton & Menk teamed with WSP to study the Charlotte Area Transit System’s LYNX Southeast Corridor to define a fixed rail guideway alignment. Identified as one of the five rapid transit corridors in the CATS 2030 Transit System Plan, the Southeast Corridor Study area extends approximately 13.5 miles from Charlotte’s Center City to the border of Mecklenburg and Union Counties, including the Town of Matthews. Through a series of public input sessions and workshops, the design team led an open forum for CATS and the public to discuss the constraints and opportunities within the corridor, including station location evaluation criteria and recommendations for preliminary station locations. The study defined a fixed rail guideway alignment that serves future transportation needs and promotes the land use plans/polices of both the Independence Boulevard Area Plan and the Town of Matthews.
