Infrastructure Improvements Phases I/II/III/IV
City of Eagle Bend, Minnesota
The City of Eagle Bend struggled with sanitary sewer inflow and infiltration (I&I) for years and needed a solution that would address these concerns.
Bolton & Menk prepared a capital improvement plan that developed a phased reconstruction plan to address the areas of the city that were identified to be contributing to the I&I issues. The plan consisted of reconstructing approximately 20 blocks of city and county roads within the city limits, including the reconstruction of Todd County Road 22 through downtown Eagle Bend.
The project included design plans for a dual-cell precast concrete box culvert with cast-in-place concrete headwalls carrying CSAH 22 over Eagle Creek Tributary No. 9. Due to the urban nature of the project and an inability to raise the grades through the project corridor, a concrete distribution slab was used to prevent concentrated vehicular wheel loading directly on the precast culvert.
