CSAH 6 and CSAH 106 Infrastructure Improvements

Redwood County, Minnesota

CSAH 106 (First Avenue) and CSAH 6 (Ilex Street) run in front of and beside the Meadowland Farmers Cooperative Grain Elevator within the City of Lamberton and receive heavy truck traffic. The city and Redwood County worked collaboratively to replace the deteriorating asphalt with concrete. The project was completed in three phases to ensure continuous access to the elevator.

The city replaced the infrastructure under the pavement. Bolton & Menk performed design, construction management, and on-site inspection services. The project was paved with 8 inches of non-reinforced concrete. The sidewalk at the intersection was reconstructed to be ADA compliant.

The project design, construction quality, and unique challenges were successfully addressed during design and construction, making this project worthy of a concrete paving award.
