Argenta Trunk Utility Extensions

City of Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota

The Argenta District is located in northwest Inver Grove Heights and is one of the largest remaining undeveloped areas in the metro, located only minutes from the Mall of America. The city wanted to analyze trunk utility extensions into the Argenta District.

The terrain is extremely varied in this area. Finding utility alignments to minimize over-depth utilities and an overabundance of lift stations proved challenging. Additionally, there were several future transportation corridors, including MnDOT and Dakota County highways. Bolton & Menk worked with several potential developers to create concept plans and corridors through the undeveloped parcels. Achieving the desired corridors took an exhausting effort of coordination between the city, MnDOT, Dakota County, private developers, and homeowners. This effort resulted in trunk utilities located in optimal locations that will serve thousands of people in the future.
