Mississippi River Trunk Sanitary Sewer CIPP Lining Project

City of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota

Wastewater from the eastern half of Brooklyn Center runs through one trunk sanitary sewer under I-694 and along the Mississippi River before discharging into the Metropolitan Council system. The sewer main was in dire need of root cleaning and because it was such a critical link for the city, was a candidate for both main and manhole rehabilitation.

Bolton & Menk completed trenchless rehabilitation of the main. Due to the importance this link plays in Brooklyn Center's overall conveyance system, Bolton & Menk designed bypass pumping to keep sewage flowing and out of homes and basements as the work was completed.

With the completion of this project the city has a reliable trunk sanitary sewer system and construction was accomplished with little to no adverse effects to residents and businesses.
