Watermain Distribution Improvements
City of Waterville, Minnesota
The City was plagued with undersized and aging watermain throughout. On an average year they would have well over a dozen watermain breaks. Limited hydrants and valves were also a problem in many neighborhoods.
Bolton & Menk worked with City Officials and solicited USDA Rural Development funding for a large watermain distribution system replacement project. Funding was secured to replace over 20,000 linear feet of watermain.
After completion of the project, the City of Waterville has a reliable water distribution system. The funding package from Rural Development included over one million dollars in grant money in addition to a low interest loan. The project was made possible by the leadership of City Officials who moved forward with the project in spite of being in a recession. Outstanding bid prices, grant dollars, and a low interest loan accompanied this successful project for Waterville.
