Airport Environmental Assessment

City of Long Prairie, Minnesota

The Airport Commission needed environmental clearance to construct a 500-foot runway extension using an FAA grant. Bolton & Menk completed an environmental assessment to mitigate environmental impacts in the project area. In addition, a Runway Protection Zone (RPZ) Alternative Analysis was completed to allow two gravel township roads to remain in the future RPZ and avoid relocation. The airport commission received a Finding of No Significant Impact and was able to move forward with land acquisition and a runway extension using federal funds.
