Bypass pumping occurred throughout construction, eliminating the need to interrupt sanitary sewer service during construction.
Lift Station 14
City of Maplewood, Minnesota
The City of Maplewood needed to convert an existing wet/dry well cast-in-place concrete station, as the existing pumps and controls required replacement. Bolton & Menk's design incorporated converting the dry well to a valve vault, and the existing wet well to a submersible lift station. The existing lift station was a cast-in-place concrete structure. Retrofitting the existing top slab with new hatches was not practical, so a top slab was designed with new hatches. In addition, a control panel with a cellular alarm/SCADA dialer was installed. Sanitary sewer service was never interrupted during construction as bypass pumping occurred throughout construction.
