The Iowa Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects recognized Bolton & Menk, in collaboration with Design Workshop, with the 2019 Planning and Analysis Honor Award on September 17 for the Highway 14 Corridor Study in Marshalltown, Iowa.
On Monday, September 9, Bolton & Menk’s Children’s Book series was awarded the 2019 American Public Works Association’s Exceptional Performance in Non-Chapter Journalism award. The award recognizes exceptional performance in presenting the story of a public works issue or event that projects a positive image of individuals or agencies in the course of their performance in either broadcast or print mediums.
The Institute of Transportation Engineers recognized Dakota County and Bolton & Menk with the 2019 Transportation Achievement Award for Planning for the Southview Boulevard (CSAH 14) and 3rd Avenue Improvements project on July 22 at their annual conference in Austin, Texas.

The American Council of Engineering Companies of North Dakota recognized the North Dakota State College of Science (NDSCS) with the 2018 Engineering Excellence Award in Special Projects for their Infrastructure improvements. This $13 million project, which improved utility infrastructure and addressed pedestrian, ADA, parking, and traffic movement, was completed over the course of three construction seasons.

The American Planning Association recognized Bolton & Menk’s Parker the Planner book with the Silver level Public Outreach award at the National Planning Awards Luncheon in San Francisco on April 15. The award recognizes the firm’s book for educating children about the planning profession in a fun, creative way.
The American Society of Landscape Architects, Central States division recognized Bolton & Menk, in collaboration with Design Workshop, with the 2019 ASLA Central States Award on April 5 at the award ceremony in St. Louis, Missouri.
