Traffic Control Workshop

Even though growth has slowed in recent times, communities are still under continual pressure to incorporate traffic control measures into their overall transportation system. Common requests include:
- New stop signs
- Reduced speed limits
- Painted crosswalks
- Signs and flashing lights at crosswalks
- Reduced street width
- Roundabouts
In an effort to help communities evaluate the need for traffic control measures and to determine the appropriate measure (if any) to employ, Bolton & Menk, Inc. would like to invite you and members of your staff and council to a Traffic Control Workshop on June 11, 2009 at City Hall in Waconia, MN. The workshop is intended for public officials and will address the following topics:
- Warrants for intersection control
- Speed limits
- Pros and cons of marked and unmarked crosswalks
- Speed reduction toolbox
- Speed bumps
- Traffic circles
- Street width
- Bump outs
- Medians
- Roadway geometry
- Roundabouts
