Featured in North Star Engineer: Projects Delivering Impact

We’re proud to have been featured in the latest issue of North Star Engineer, the magazine of ACEC Minnesota. The issue highlights three projects that showcase the power of partnership, innovation, and long-term commitment to the communities we serve.

Accelerating Innovation: Carver County Highway 5 Improvements

Our work with Carver County, the City of Victoria, MnDOT, the University of Minnesota, and the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum highlights how strong partnerships can accelerate complex transportation projects. By aligning funding, design, and delivery across multiple stakeholders, the team advanced the Highway 5 Improvements Project while maintaining momentum and delivering long-term value to the communities it serves.

Designing for an Endangered Pollinator

As plans for the Highway 5 corridor advanced, project partners identified an opportunity to go beyond transportation improvements. Through extensive environmental study and coordination, the team developed a strategy to protect and enhance habitat for the federally endangered Rusty Patched Bumble Bee, including the creation of 10 acres of habitat that will be owned and maintained by the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum in perpetuity.

Collaborative Planning in Action: Saint Paul’s Capital City Bikeway

The Capital City Bikeway is transforming how people move through downtown Saint Paul. Built on years of planning, stakeholder engagement, and interagency collaboration, the network strengthens connections while improving safety and accessibility for all users. The Kellogg Boulevard corridor shows how thoughtful design can enhance multimodal transportation while addressing challenges such as historic preservation, bridge infrastructure, and urban connectivity.

Our best work happens when agencies, institutions, and communities stay aligned around a shared vision. These projects reflect what is possible when partners commit to long‑term outcomes and work together to bring ideas to life.
