Congratulations to Alex Larson, who has been named one of Prairie Business Magazine’s 2023 Top 25 Women in Business. The annual contest was created to draw attention to the many creative, successful businesswomen in North Dakota, South Dakota, and western Minnesota. Recipients were selected through a nomination process that emphasized professional achievement, community contributions, and volunteerism.
Alex is a leader in Bolton & Menk’s Fargo location where she has consistently worked on design of residential and commercial sites. She began her career as a construction inspector and designer, having contributed to a majority of developments in West Fargo south off I-94. She now is managing projects throughout eastern North Dakota and Western Minnesota and prides herself in shaping the future growth of communities. Alex had a prominent role in North Dakota State College of Science’s (NDSCS) Campus Infrastructure Replacement project, completing award-winning design work and construction observation on the project consisting of new design for all failing sanitary, water, and storm sewer utilities. Her work has provided the college with improved utilities, enhanced pedestrian facilities, and a beautifully landscaped campus. She also assisted the City of Wyndmere with their Street and Stormwater Improvements project. Alex completed design work and construction observation on the reconstruction project consisting of new design of 10 blocks of roadway. Her work has now grown beyond North Dakota and Minnesota, as she is now working on design projects for Bolton & Menk’s southeast clients in North and South Carolina.
A native of Moorhead, Alex has been consistently active in the community. She is a member of the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd where she has taught children’s Sunday school. She regularly volunteers her time at the Moorhead Learn to Skate Program through Moorhead Parks and Recreation where she teaches young kids to ice skate. She also volunteers her time at American Gold Gymnastics and is currently a part of the Fargo Moorhead West Fargo Chamber Leadership Program.
