This year’s rankings reflect a new methodology focused on deeper data and broader coordination across American City Business Journals. The goal: provide more context and uncover thousands of new local records across the U.S.

Firms were ranked based on verified or estimated employment figures. In the case of ties, total staff size determined placement, followed by alphabetical order. To qualify, firms need at least 10 employees.
