College of Saint Benedict Softball Complex Honored by Softball Associations
The College of Saint Benedict Softball Complex was named the 2021 Netting Professionals/NFCA Division III Field of the Year. The award recognizes top fields and stadiums in the nation for their flawless grounds maintenance and top-notch playing surfaces. Locations are selected by the awards committee for NCAA Divisions I, II, and III, NAIA, NJCAA, Cal JC, NWAC, and High School.
Bolton & Menk worked with the College of Saint Benedict to develop a master plan for the new premier athletic complex in 2013. The design of the first phase of work including synthetic turf and sand-peat soccer/lacrosse fields, softball fields, intramural fields, parking and drives, and plazas was accomplished the in spring/summer of 2016 with a portion of the construction being accomplished this fall. Bolton & Menk is leading the design of the balance of the facility including 15,000 square foot Athletic Center, softball and soccer dugouts, concession/ticket building, and pavilion.
The completion of the $12 million athletic complex was completed in the spring of 2018.
Other award-winning facilities include University of Missouri’s Mizzou Softball Stadium, Washburn University’s Gahnstrom Field, Calumet College of St. Joseph’s Whiting Sports Complex, Jones College’s Community Bank Park/Gwen Magee Field, Antelope Valley College’s Marauder Softball Stadium, and Los Alamitos (Calif.) High School’s Los Alamitos High School Softball Field.
