Ashley Hudson, AICP, Principal Transportation Planner
Women in Transportation MN Chapter – Board of Directors, Development Director; Minnesota Transportation Alliance – Board of Directors
Ashley Hudson, principal transportation planner out of Bolton & Menk’s Minneapolis, MN location, is currently serving as Development Director on the Women in Transportation MN chapter Board of Directors, an organization that attracts, sustains, connects, and advances women’s careers to strengthen the transportation industry. She also serves on the Board of Directors of the Minnesota Transportation Alliance.
About Ashley
Since beginning her career in 2011, Ashley has developed a range of skills as a principal transportation planner. She fills multiple roles on an assortment of projects, including transportation corridor studies and designs, multiuse trail studies, and streetscape designs. As the leader of our firm’s transportation funding team and transportation planning practice area leader, she has excellent capabilities in aligning projects with funding sources, developing comprehensive implementation and funding plans, and grant writing and research. Ashley’s other contributions to projects include written and visual project communication, creative thinking and delivery, and creating and executing dynamic public engagement plans. She uses her creativity in projects by guiding the creation of visual-heavy materials to communicate project needs and information clearly and effectively to stakeholders and the public.
About Women in Transportation
Since 1977, Women in Transportation (WTS International), originally named the Women’s Transportation Seminar, has focused on promoting the advancement of women in the transportation industry. To fulfill its mission of advancing both the transportation industry and the professional women who lead it, WTS International gives members the necessary tools for success.
Women were largely discouraged from participating in professional associations – unless the activities were deemed educational. In response, a pioneering group of women organized luncheons and workshops, considered acceptable “seminars.” These founding members supported one another, used their connections to advance their careers, and began to idealize a more diverse, inclusive, and equitable transportation industry.

Minnesota Transportation Alliance works to coordinate and educate diverse groups statewide to effectively advocate for a safe, efficient transportation system that works for everyone.
Originally organized in 1893, the Minnesota Transportation Alliance is a statewide coalition of organizations advocating for a safe and effective transportation system that works for all Minnesotans. Our Alliance includes local governments, businesses, labor, the transportation industry, transit systems, rail, waterways, and airports. In short, our members are on the front lines, planning, designing, building, and operating Minnesota’s transportation system every day.
The Minnesota Transportation Alliance works with decision makers on a non-partisan basis to achieve results that improve Minnesota’s transportation system.

Iowa Women in Architecture – Board of Leadership, Past Chair
Brianna Hanke, landscape architect out of Bolton & Menk’s Des Moines, IA location, is a past Chair of Iowa Women in Architecture Board of Leadership, a non-profit, educational organization whose mission is to support and promote women involved in design and construction of the built environment.
About Brianna
Brianna is a landscape architect who began her career in 2017. She is experienced in urban design, streetscape design, and park and recreational design. She can work with and collect data from the community to develop a conceptual design to fit the community’s needs. Brianna is experienced in marketing, project-branding, graphics, presentations, project summary reports, and construction documents. Her passion is steeped in giving communities a sense of place and unique character for their town.
About Iowa Women in Architecture
In 2011, four women co-founded Iowa Women in Architecture as a nonprofit corporation in the state of Iowa. With combined experience of more than 50 years working as practitioners and educators in architecture and urban design, the founders established Iowa Women in Architecture to examine issues related to women in architecture and related professions, and to serve as a resource for women at all stages of their careers.
Iowa Women in Architecture holds major quarterly events, engages in outreach activities, sponsors research initiatives, and provokes ongoing discussion within the discipline. A student chapter at Iowa State University extends these opportunities to students and faculty at the state’s only architecture program and responds to student’s needs.
Rachel Orn, PCM, Senior Marketing & Communication Specialist
Partners for Parks – Board of Directors, Marketing Director
Rachel Orn, senior marketing & communication specialist out of Bolton & Menk’s Rock Hill, SC location, is currently serving on the Board of Directors of Partners for Parks, an advocate for promoting and enhancing parks, greenways, open spaces, active play, and recreation. Rachel also serves as the Marketing Director for the organization.
About Rachel
Rachel began her content marketing career in 2012. A seasoned content strategist with more than a decade of experience, she takes pride in creating compelling content that resonates and converts. Her journalism background ensures a keen eye for detail and a knack for uncovering important details. Rachel has experience strategizing and executing content across a diverse range of industries, requiring her to translate complex technical topics into clear, informative, and engaging content. She is a Professional Certified Marketer in Content Marketing with the American Marketing Association and a member of the AMA Charlotte Chapter.
