McIntyre Creek Greenway is a 1.35-mile corridor through Charlotte’s Hornet’s Nest Park from Beatties Ford Road to Clarence Field Drive, including connections to adjacent neighborhoods. Bolton & Menk is the prime consultant leading the design of McIntyre Creek Greenway in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina, providing master planning, landscape architecture, and civil engineering services. Additional services provided by the consultant team include environmental services, including hydrologic and hydraulic studies, stream and wetland delineation, stream restoration, environmental permitting, and impact(s). The project involved extensive consultant and client collaboration and coordination with municipalities and local, regional, state, and federal agencies.
Unique to this section of greenway trail was extensive coordination with the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) regarding the conservation easement along McIntyre Creek, and ongoing coordination with the Charlotte Disc Golf Club to find the best alignment for the greenway for both greenway users and disc golfers.
