Overview

This lakeside venue will turn Annandale City Park into a year-round destination for music, arts, and community connection.

Sectors

The City of Annandale identified a need for a permanent venue to support its performative arts groups and community events. Existing spaces lacked the infrastructure and visibility to host both small-scale performances and large public gatherings, such as the city’s annual Fourth of July celebration. The city envisioned a structure that would not only meet these functional needs but also enhance the cultural and recreational value of Annandale City Park, located beside Pleasant Lake.

To bring this vision to life, Bolton & Menk partnered closely with city leaders and stakeholders to design a bandshell that balances versatility, aesthetics, and community purpose. The team developed a solution that accommodates intimate performances while also supporting larger events, ensuring flexibility for a wide range of programming. The bandshell’s design is thoughtfully integrated into the park’s natural setting, creating a seamless extension of the public space and preserving the scenic character of the lakeside environment.

Scheduled for construction in spring 2026, the Annandale Bandshell will serve as a lasting investment in the city’s cultural infrastructure. It will provide a dedicated space for artistic expression, civic pride, and community celebration—reinforcing Annandale’s commitment to enriching public life through shared experiences and accessible gathering places.
