Home / Garrison Equipment Storage Facility, North Dakota Department of Transportation
NDDOT’s Garrison facility is now poised for transformation, with a modern design that enhances safety, efficiency, and readiness for today’s equipment.
The North Dakota Department of Transportation (NDDOT) faced a pressing challenge: its aging maintenance and equipment storage facility in Garrison was no longer meeting operational needs. Originally constructed decades ago and incrementally modified over time, the building had become undersized for modern vehicles and lacked essential features such as a wash bay, secure lockers, and adequate ventilation. These limitations hindered efficiency and safety, prompting the need for a comprehensive upgrade.
To address this, Bolton & Menk applied its deep expertise in facility design and leveraged established baseline standards from the state to develop a tailored solution. Drawing on lessons learned from similar projects, the team fast-tracked the design and documentation process. This accelerated approach enabled the timely completion of construction-ready drawings, ensuring the project could move forward swiftly once funding was secured.
As a result of Bolton & Menk’s strategic planning and responsive design work, the Garrison facility is now fully prepared for bidding and construction. The new design promises to accommodate modern equipment, improve working conditions, and support long-term operational efficiency for NDDOT’s maintenance operations in the region.
