Testing Water for Iron and Manganese – Field Day Ep. 1

Is your water safe? Today we learn how to test for iron and manganese thanks to the staff over at the Buffalo, Minnesota Water Treatment Plant and our very own Bolton & Menk Water/Wastewater Project Manager, Jennifer Selchow. Testing water for these elements is crucial for maintaining both health and infrastructure. High levels of these metals can cause a range of issues, from staining laundry and plumbing fixtures to affecting the taste and color of your water. More importantly, excessive iron and manganese can pose health risks, particularly for individuals with certain medical conditions.

Thanks to Jen for giving us some insight into ‘what’s in your water?’ and how she spends her time out in the field, keeping water safe and clean for local communities.
