Karis Cold established a state-of-the-art 277,785-square-foot cold storage facility in Rock Hill, South Carolina, boosting the local economy and serving as a logistics hub for the food and medical industries.
Karis developed a cold storage facility designed to provide operators with a best-in-class distribution center. The cold storage infrastructure struggled to keep up with the demands and evolution of modern distribution. As technology advances and the expectations of consumers and businesses evolved, the need for an advanced, efficient, and robust cold storage solution became more imperative than ever.
Karis Cold has significantly contributed to the economic growth of Rock Hill, SC, by establishing the region's first cold storage facility. Strategically located along the Interstate 77 corridor, this 277,785-square-foot facility has attracted multiple users from the food and medical industries, creating a hub for food and medicine distribution and logistics in York County. Bolton & Menk worked collaboratively with Karis, the architectural design team, and general contractor to develop a site that accomplished the specific goals of the project and fulfilled market needs while working with the county and local stakeholders to ensure the project was successfully integrated into the local fabric of the community. Bolton & Menk provided land planning, entitlement, civil engineering, landscape architecture, and construction administration services.
