Demers Avenue and Columbia Road west ramp and US 2 and 55th Street were in need of improvements to better convey traffic and protect pedestrians. Bolton & Menk provided construction inspection, construction administration, and survey services on this $2 million improvement project of two intersections in the City of Grand Forks, ND. The project incorporated the addition or revision of traffic signals, lighting, and turn lanes at the Highway 2/55th Street intersection as well as the Demers Avenue/Columbia Road intersection. In addition, sidewalk segments, detectable warning panels, and pedestrian push buttons at both intersections were added to meet ADA compliance and provide better pedestrian accessibility.
