This large-scale drainage improvement and ocean outfall project is located in the Ocean Drive section of North Myrtle Beach at the intersection of Main Street and Ocean Boulevard. Bolton & Menk was responsible for the on-shore and off-shore design of a single 84-inch diameter gravity feed concrete pipe buried under the ocean floor approximately 1,200 linear feet off-shore with flows over 160 cfs to replace the existing 30-inch single outfall. The on-shore portion of the project consisted of approximately 4,900 linear feet of pipe ranging in size from 72-inch to 15-inch RCP. Improvements for the 100-acre drainage basin included various water quality units upstream.
