Types of Sources

Nonpoint-Source Pollution: Nonpoint-sources are more difficult to regulate as the effluent cannot be easily measured or traced to a single source. The most common nonpoint-source in Iowa is agricultural farm fields, where fertilizer runoff pollutes nearby bodies of water.
