Sectors

Faced with an undersized and outdated facility that no longer met the demands of modern emergency response, the Hankinson Fire Protection District needed a new solution to support its growing operational needs. The existing building lacked the space, infrastructure, and functionality required to house larger emergency vehicles, provide adequate decontamination capabilities, and support administrative and logistical workflows essential to today’s emergency services.

To address these challenges, the district partnered with Bolton & Menk to design a state-of-the-art Emergency Services Center in Hankinson, North Dakota. The new facility includes dedicated apparatus and ambulance bays, a specialized decontamination area, support spaces, and administrative offices. It also features upgraded mechanical systems with in-floor heating, as well as modern electrical and plumbing infrastructure. Bolton & Menk’s design not only meets the technical and operational requirements of the district but also reflects a thoughtful, community-focused approach and a commitment to streamlined project delivery.

Currently under construction and slated for completion in Spring 2026, the Hankinson Emergency Services Center will significantly enhance the district’s emergency response capabilities. Through Bolton & Menk’s collaborative design process, the Hankinson Fire Protection District is achieving a facility that improves efficiency, accommodates future growth, and better serves the safety needs of the Hankinson community.
