Home / Parking Garage Expansion, Des Moines International Airport
Des Moines International Airport’s new five-story parking structure adds 1,200 spaces, premium access, and sustainable features for future growth.
To meet growing demand for covered parking and prepare for a new terminal, Des Moines International Airport partnered with Bolton & Menk to design and deliver a five-story parking structure with approximately 1,200 spaces. The project enhances passenger convenience and traffic flow while integrating seamlessly with both the existing and future terminals.
Bolton & Menk led planning, design, and construction, coordinating with other consultant partners. Key features include a new entry plaza, relocated commercial lanes, integrated systems, and an elevated walk-bridge connecting directly to the terminal. Sustainability elements such as solar panels and electric vehicle charging stations were incorporated to support long-term growth. The parking garage provides premium parking options and improved access and opened prior to the new terminal's completion.
