Bolton & Menk provided the preliminary drainage studies and associated reports pertaining to this 156-acre basin.
With its original drainage basin study completed in 1997, the City of Myrtle Beach aims to update its drainage basin report and reduce the number of stormwater outfall pipes on the beach.
Bolton & Menk completed a new study and updated the report for this 156-acre area. With the goal to replace the double 36-inch diameter beach outfall, located at the end of 24th Avenue North, with a deep-water double 84-inch diameter ocean outfall with flow estimated as high as 500 cfs. The pipe extends 1,500± linear feet offshore into the Atlantic Ocean.
This upgrade aims to reduce beach erosion, improve water quality, and enhance public safety by managing stormwater more effectively.
