International Drive is a 5-mile-long, vital transportation artery connecting SC Highway 90 to Robert Grissom Parkway. Horry County chose Bolton & Menk to provide the design and regulatory permitting for this RIDE II-funded project. A major obstacle to this road's development was the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources' requirement to protect the black bears in this area. Bolton & Menk representatives, along with key assistance from our State Delegation, were able to work through this requirement. As a result of the savings, the road was constructed as a four- and five-lane section with a multipurpose path and opened to the public on July 25, 2018.
