Lamkin, Mosley Win ASCE-MN Engineering Awards
Congratulations to Tim Lamkin, Jr. and Maren Mosley, who have been announced as the 2023 Outstanding Engineer of the Year and 2023 Young Engineer of the Year award winners, respectively, from the Minnesota Section of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE-MN). These awards are presented to exceptional ASCE-MN members who go above and beyond for the section and the advancement of the engineering profession. Lamkin and Mosley were presented with the awards on April 16, 2024 at the ASCE-MN Awards Banquet in Saint Paul, Minnesota.
As a principal transportation engineer, Tim likes the challenge of managing complex projects and is passionate about working on projects that improve safety. He began his career in 2004 and has worked on a variety of municipal, traffic, and transportation projects that include roundabouts, ADA compliance, roadway expansion, rural highways, utility relocation, and pedestrian, biking, and trail elements. Tim has held leadership roles within ASCE-MN for the majority of 2003-2022, serving as the MN Section Director of events from 2014 to 2017 and MN Section President from 2020-2021.
Maren is a transportation design engineer at Bolton & Menk who began her career in 2020. Her responsibilities include final designs for transportation projects which consist of roadway and intersection design, modeling, and preparation of plans and layouts. Her areas of expertise lie in plan production and ADA design. Maren is passionate about creating infrastructure solutions and seeing designs come to life in our client communities. She has been involved with ASCE for nearly six years, dating back to when the student chapter was formed at the University of St. Thomas in the 2018-2019 academic year. She played an integral part in growing the group and establishing connections between the students and the professional networking world. Maren currently serves as the ASCE-MN Young Member Group Board President and strives to make events fun and accessible despite growing pains and event restrictions in the years post-2020.
